Filling up the Shop

Since Christmas I have been busy trying to prepare for the 2012 wedding season...that just sounds wrong doesn't it?!  Thinking about wedding season when it's not even January yet...but it's really not that far away.

So I have been making ring bearer pillows, table numbers, chalkboards, table runners and cake toppers.

I still am not done but I have made some progress.  I hope to have the rest of the items ready for listing by then end of the First week of January.

Are you done with Summer!?

I'm done with summer...I mean D. O. N. E., done!  We have had a ridiculously hot summer and it's not even August yet.  Ugh.  I'm ready for Fall.  I love Fall...jeans and sweatshirts and my friends.  I love pumpkins, colored leafs and crisp nights.  I'm dreaming of hay rides and apple cider.

By the way, do you call if Fall or Autumn?  I think the word Autumn is so pretty but I always end up saying Fall.

I've started {slowly} getting my Fall line together.

Vintage Farmhouse Chic Wedding?

So, I thought I would be done with my latest vintage suitcase project by now and have a post all about it.

 Mother Nature apparently did not care about my plan. 

All the rainy weather has kept me from spray painting so I've switched to regular paint.  Man am I inpatient...once you get used to only waiting 10 minutes between coats using spray paint, 4 hours between coats just doesn't cut it!  Put hopefully I'll have this little project done soon.

Wedding season is upon us and man has my Etsy Shop been busy the last couple of weeks.  As I type {as quickly as I can...so please excuse any and all typos} I have a total of 11 boxes sitting on my dinning room table waiting for their trip to the post office.

Making all of these wedding items has me jonesing to plan a dreamy vintage inspired, farmhouse chic wedding...any guinea pigs?

Let them eat cake

Well, the wedding posts continue...kinda. 

I've started making cake toppers.  They are cute little pennant banner style cake toppers and it all started because of a request for one to used in a wedding.  Well, I have sold a handful so I thought "why not make it a permanent item in my shop".

But then I started thinking about a good friend of mine who is expecting her first baby {my hubby and I are making the long drive up to Chicago this Memorial Day weekend for her baby shower}.  And that made me think about baby showers, and bridal showers and well almost every other kind of celebration.

I decided some banner making and staging was in order.

I'm sorta in love with this "Be Mine" banner...now I only have to wait until next Feb. to use it!

This one will be for my daughter's birthday.

I may have gone overboard...I have a tendency to do that.  Oh, well.

Who doesn't love weddings?

I don't know what it is lately but when creating "stuff" I keep coming back to weddings. 
     maybe it was that dang royal wedding that planted the seed?!

I mean, who doesn't like a wedding but come one...never before have I sat down to get all creative and churn out some goodies and had a white dress, centerpieces and a group of people doing the Chicken Dance pop into my head.  It's a little concerning.  But, for right now I'm just rolling with it...it is almost wedding season after all so maybe it will pay off.

So here is what I've been up to in my Etsy Shop:


          favor baskets to hold votives, flower petal, candies, etc.

chalkboards for table numbers/ menu boards/ dessert bar signs, etc.

romantic clothes pins for well wishes tree, to clip on place settings, to clip onto favors

Mini chalkboard framed tags for place settings, favors, etc.

The funny thing is I don't have a single wedding to go to this Spring/Summer.  My sister in law is getting married, but that's not until October.  Oh well...I'll just have to live vicariously.

When it rains...

Do you remember me complaining, eeh...I mean telling you that my first craft show did not go as well as I had hoped.  Well, I didn't get the sales I had hoped for that weekend but I'm so glad I did the show because it has resulted in some great things.  Man, when it rains it pours!

One of my customers from the show contacted me about a week later and placed my first wholesale order. I was so excited!  I met her with trunk load of items and she bought them all.  I was a happy girl.

One of the other crafters from the show has asked me to make her a super cute wedding cake topper for her wedding. {I'm sharing pictures of the idea below}

To top it off another sweet customer from the show contacted me through my Etsy shop and I'm working on a few custom orders for her.  I'll share those later...I don't want to risk ruining the surprise for those whom she is ordering for!

Lately I have had several custom orders...mainly for weddings.  Maybe I've found my niche.  We'll see.
